NOTE >>

If the following does not fit your situation, consider telling us more about what you are doing.

Have you tried a check for printer readiness, and a Printer Reset?

HP OfficeJet 8010, Pro 8020 and 8030 Printers - Paper jam error

Preferably start from the top - at the least, complete Step 5

By "programmed" do you mean to say the application or software you are using is supported by the paper size and type and that the selection for duplex has been made in the job configuration?

Content type is supported?

For example, Content is a Document as opposed to photo?

Perhaps you mean that the Duplex settings have been checked?

For example, Duplex unit present and checked?

Relevant to Windows

Duplex printing – also used in booklet format – may need the following adjustment to assure that pages maintain their formatting and print on the page as needed:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

Right-Click Printer > Printing Preferences > Tab Advanced

OR

Windows 11

Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners

Select Printer >

Printing Preferences > Tab Advanced

Next,

UNCHECK HP Real Life Technologies

Click OK to save change

--------------  --------------  -------------

Tray / Duplex feature installed? (Model Dependent)

Windows 10

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

Right-Click Printer > Printer Properties > Tab Device Settings

OR

Windows 11

Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners

Select Printer > Printer Properties > Tab Device Settings

OR

Next,

Under Installable Options

Automatic Duplexing Unit > Select / Verify Installed > OK

And

Tray # = Installed

--------------  --------------  -------------

Duplex unit attached to the printer? (Model Dependent)

If there is a Duplexer unit attached to the back of the printer, consider re-seating (removing/replacing) the Duplexer box. If you do remove the duplexer, take a moment to check inside the printer cavity for tiny stuck paper bits – while stuck paper would normally result in a “paper jam” error, the condition might generate problems with printing duplex.

--------------  --------------  -------------

What else?

For example,

Duplex is supported on standard plain paper in Letter Size in supported document types.

Product Specifications for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 All-in-One Printer (1KR57A)

Paper handling - duplexer

Media sizes, duplex (U.S. standard)
Letter; executive; Not supported for borderless photo

Device type makes a difference, too.

That is, are you using a computer, tablet, or phone to set up the print job?

What?

HP Smart - Mobile - is similar to the Windows version and is dependent on the same limitations.

The Print Options are selected in a different place than in the HP Smart app in Windows.
