Hi @novice63,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Error code 3 on the HP Envy 6055e typically indicates a paper jam or a paper-related issue. Let's go through some simple troubleshooting steps to help you out.
- Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer cover and look inside carefully. Make sure there are no small pieces of paper stuck anywhere. If you find any paper jammed, gently remove it. Be careful not to tear the paper while removing it.
- Reload Paper: Even if there doesn't appear to be a paper jam, try removing the paper stack from the tray and then reloading it. Make sure the paper is aligned properly and not crumpled.
- Check Paper Tray Alignment: Ensure that the paper guides in the paper tray are correctly positioned to hold the paper in place. Misaligned guides can cause paper feeding issues.
- Check Ink Cartridges: Although error code 3 is usually related to paper, it's good to double-check the ink cartridges as well. Ensure they are properly installed and have enough ink.
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Turn off the printer, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on.
- Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually do this through the printer's settings menu or by visiting the HP support website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
