Hi @ramsay9033,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet 3830 printer repeatedly printing the same job and won't stop, the issue could be due to a stuck print job in the printer queue. Here's how to resolve the problem:
1. Cancel the Print Job on the Printer
- Tap the Cancel button on the printer's touchscreen to stop the current print job.
2. Clear the Print Queue on Your Computer
- Windows:
- Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
- Right-click your printer and select See what's printing.
- In the queue window, click Printer > Cancel All Documents.
- Mac:
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Open Print Queue.
- Select the print job(s) and click the X or Cancel.
3. Restart the Print Spooler Service (Windows Only)
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll down and find Print Spooler.
- Right-click and select Stop.
- Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files in this folder.
- Return to the Services window, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.
4. Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 2 minutes.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
5. Check for Pending Jobs on the Mobile App
- If you initiated the print job from the HP Smart app or another mobile app, ensure the job isn’t stuck in the app's print queue.
6. Update the Printer's Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Go to the HP Support website and check for the latest firmware updates for your printer model. Install any updates as instructed.
7. Reset the Printer to Factory Settings
If the issue persists:
- Access the printer's Settings menu.
- Look for Reset Options or Restore Factory Defaults.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
