Laser Jet CP1025nw color

If your HP LaserJet CP1025nw color printer isn't powering up after a power surge, it's possible that the surge damaged some internal components or caused a temporary malfunction. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Check the Power Cable and Outlet

  • Inspect the Power Cable: Ensure the power cable is properly connected to both the printer and the power outlet. Look for any visible damage or fraying on the cable, as this can cause power issues.
  • Test the Outlet: Test the power outlet by plugging another device (like a lamp or phone charger) into it to ensure the outlet is working.

2. Perform a Soft Reset

  • Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the printer from the power outlet.
  • Wait for 30 Seconds to 1 Minute: This allows the internal components to reset.
  • Reconnect and Power On: Plug the printer back into the power outlet and attempt to power it on.

3. Check for a Power Button Issue

  • Power Button Stuck: Sometimes, the power button may become stuck or unresponsive. Press the button firmly but gently to make sure it’s not stuck in the "off" position.
  • Try a Different Button: Some printers have a separate "Cancel" or "Reset" button that can sometimes help reset power functions. Try pressing those as well.

4. Check for Internal Fuses

  • Fuse Issue: Power surges can sometimes blow internal fuses in printers. If you feel comfortable opening the printer, you could check for any internal fuses or indicators that something is burnt or blown. 5. Test with a Different Power Source

  • Use a Different Power Strip: If you're using a power strip or surge protector, try plugging the printer directly into the wall socket instead. Sometimes the power strip may have been damaged by the surge.
  • Test in Another Location: Move the printer to a different room and plug it directly into another outlet to see if the issue is specific to the current power source.

6. Disconnect USB and Other Cables

  • Disconnect Peripherals: If there are any USB or other cables connected to the printer, disconnect them and try turning the printer on again. Sometimes peripherals can cause the printer to fail to power on.

Is there a way to find out if there are any internal fuses that can be replaced??  It is a CP1025nw using CE310-13A toners. 

I have a supply of CE310-13 toners but the 1025 is not available so I searched for a compatible replacement printer. M177fw was compatible with my toners but was upgraded to M182nw which was supposed to also be compatible but is apparently not. Am I correct that ce310/130A toners will not work in a M182?
