I am trying to print a calendar template page from Microsoft word on my HP officejet 5740 series printer. I had no problems printing prior to this. What I see in print preview is not what prints. It leaves off all the info I entered into the calendar page. I am running windows 10. I printed a template page in November and had no problems. I attempted to check for driver updates for the printer but couldn't find any.

Hi @carriannie ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues where the printout doesn't match what you see in the print preview, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Check Print Preview:
- Open your calendar template in Microsoft Word.
- Go to "File" > "Print" to see the Print Preview.
- Make sure that the information you entered into the calendar page is visible in the Print Preview.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Visit the HP official website to check for the latest printer drivers for your HP Officejet 5740.
- Download and install the updated drivers if available.
- Restart your computer after installing the updated drivers.
Check Printer Settings:
- Open the document in Microsoft Word.
- Go to "File" > "Print."
- Ensure that the correct printer (HP Officejet 5740) is selected.
- Check the print settings to make sure they match your requirements.
Print Test Page:
- Print a test page from your computer to check if the printer is working correctly.
- This helps verify if the issue is specific to the document or a general problem with the printer.
Check for Word Updates:
- Make sure Microsoft Word is up to date. Check for and install any available updates.
- Updates may include bug fixes that could address printing issues.
Try a Different Program:
- Open the calendar template in a different program (e.g., Notepad, WordPad) and try printing from there.
- This helps determine if the issue is specific to Microsoft Word.
Check Page Layout:
- Verify that the page layout settings in Microsoft Word match the size and orientation of the paper you are using.
Clear Print Queue:
- Open the print queue on your computer and clear any pending print jobs.
- Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause subsequent printouts to be incomplete.
Check for Paper Jams or Low Ink:
- Ensure there are no paper jams in the printer.
- Check the ink or toner levels to ensure they are sufficient for printing.
Print from Another Device:
- If possible, try printing the document from another computer or device to see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
