Hi @TTina1
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I understand how frustrating this must be—especially when your printer is connected to Wi-Fi but refuses to print.
Since the printer is online but not processing jobs, let's go through some troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting for HP DeskJet Plus 4158 Not Printing
1. Restart Devices
- Turn off the printer, router, and computer.
- Wait 60 seconds, then turn on the router first and let the lights stabilize.
- Turn on the printer, then the computer.
2. Clear Print Queue
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP printer and select See What’s Printing.
- Click Cancel All Documents to clear any stuck print jobs.
3. Reset Printer Network Settings
- On the printer’s control panel, press and hold the Wireless button for 3 seconds.
- This will reset the Wi-Fi settings and put the printer into setup mode.
4. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
- Open the HP Smart App on your computer or mobile device.
- Tap Add Printer and select your HP DeskJet Plus 4158.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
5. Update Printer Firmware
- Visit HP’s support page for the DeskJet Plus 4158 here.
- Download and install the latest firmware and drivers.
- Restart your computer after installation.
6. Try Printing via IP Address
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Click Add a Printer > Add a Printer Using TCP/IP Address.
- Enter your printer’s IP address (found in the printer’s network settings).
- Complete the setup and try printing.
Let me know if you need further clarification! Hopefully, this gets your HP DeskJet Plus 4158 back to printing properly. 😊
