Hi  I have searched everywhere for technical support for HP and not having any luck.  Im getting the message " printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or installed in correctly.  Can anyone help?

@mretoronto

Sorry for the bad news -- but the most likely answer is NO.

I have run into exactly the same problem with my 8620 and I even went to the trouble to disassemble the printhead, clean all the parts and contacts carefully, reassemble it, and replace it in the printer.  Same error.

I checked online and replacements printheads are well over $100 USD -- and the problem with that is I ran into the same error with an 8500 a few years back and made the mistake of buying new printheads -- at the same cost -- and they did not fix the problem.  So, you can see my reluctance to spend the money on this one, right?

I posted a thread here myself a few days ago seeking help, but I have not seen any replied to it.

If I do not see any replied by noon tomorrow, I plan on buying an Epson all-in-one to replace the HP.  This HP makes me two-for-two with HP AIO printers that fail due to printheads, and I have no intention of making it three.
