printhead error

HP Recommended

This morning my printer began displaying the following error messages:

 

There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP.

Followed by:

The printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed.

 

Turning on and off did nothing.

Pulled the power plug with printer on, let it set for a couple of minutes. Reconnecting the power plug did not solve the issue. Nor  did resetting all the ink cartridges.
