Printer works fine in copy and scanning mode and printing a single page.  However, when attempting to print multiple pages the second page comes out blank and then jams on the 3rd page.  Clearing the jam only results in a repeat of the first sequence.   The computer what's printing screen indicates "Attention Required" which can only be cleared by shutting down the printer.  Have run printing wizard and HP Print and Scan Doctor and everything checks out as okay.

Howdy MAC340!

Welcome to the HP Forums,

I came across your post about your Officejet 5746 printing out a blank second page, and jamming the third page of a multiple page document. Here are some of my own suggestions you can try!

Tip: Ensure the printer is plugged in directly to a wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors.

1. Click this link and try the steps: 'Paper Jam' Error

2. Uninstall the printer, restart the computer and reinstall the printer.

3. Print from another program.

4. Check for firmware updates: Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates

Let me know the outcome!:)

Went through all the steps with only minimal improvement.  Printer no longer jams, but only prints a partial 2nd page.  Still get a blank page between first and second pages.  I also have to shut down printer after each occasion to clear the "Attention Required" message.  Printer works fine when printing 1 page at a time.
