Hi @lazza23,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing the scrambled characters coming out of your HP OfficeJet Pro 9014e can be caused by a few things. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Clear the Print Queue:

  • Make sure there are no stuck print jobs in the queue. On Windows 11, you can access the print queue by searching for "Printers & scanners" and clicking on it.
  • Select your HP printer and right-click on it. Choose "See what's printing" or "Open queue" depending on the option available.
  • This will open a list of pending print jobs. You can right-click on each job and choose "Cancel" to remove them.
  • Once the queue is clear, try printing your Excel sheet again.

2. Update Printer Driver:  HP OfficeJet Pro 9014e All-in-One Printer User manual

  • Outdated printer drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the HP website and download the latest driver for your OfficeJet Pro 9014e.
  • Make sure to choose a driver compatible with Windows 11. Uninstall the existing driver before installing the new one.

3. Reset the Printing System (Windows 11):

  • Resetting the printing system can sometimes clear up glitches causing printing problems.
  • Search for "Printers & scanners" and click on it.
  • Click on your HP printer and then choose "Remove device".
  • Once removed, click "Add device" and follow the on-screen instructions to re-add your printer.

4. Print from a Different Program:

  • Try printing a different document, like a text file or a webpage, to see if the problem persists. This will help isolate if the issue is with the Excel sheet itself or the communication between the printer and your computer.

5. Corrupted Excel File:

  • If the issue only happens when printing this specific Excel sheet, there might be corruption in the file itself. Try opening the file in a different program or creating a new one with the same data and see if it prints correctly.

6. Printer Memory (Less Likely):

While modern printers don't typically have user-accessible memory for storing print jobs, some models might have a temporary buffer. Here's how to try clearing it (though it might not be applicable to your model):

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 30 seconds.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds while the printer is unplugged.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
