HP DeskJet 2734e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I am trying to print a document but it won't print. I pressed on the HP support and this is what it says, "Either a cartridge is not installed or there is an issue with the installed cartridge. Replace or clean the cartridge,"

I have cleaned it already and replaced a new cartridge. I am still struggling from printing. Any advise, I've only used this printer about 10 time and I bough it on December 2023.

Thank you.

Hi @Ecr7,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your printer is still having issues despite replacing and cleaning the cartridge, here are some additional steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

**1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Reinstall Cartridges: Remove the cartridges and reinstall them, ensuring they are properly seated and clicked into place.

**2. Check for Protective Tape

  • Remove Tape: Ensure that any protective tape or packaging material has been removed from the new cartridge.

**3. Inspect Cartridge Contacts

  • Clean Contacts: Use a lint-free cloth to gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer where the cartridge is installed.

**4. Verify Cartridge Compatibility

  • Check Compatibility: Ensure that the cartridges you are using are compatible with your printer model.

**5. Perform a Printer Reset

  • Reset Printer:
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    2. Wait for about 60 seconds.
    3. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

**6. Update Printer Firmware

  • Check for Updates:
    1. Visit the HP website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
    2. Follow the instructions to update the firmware.

**7. Check for Software Issues

  • Update Drivers: Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed. You can download them from the HP website.
  • Reinstall Printer Software: Uninstall and then reinstall the printer software to resolve any potential software conflicts.

**8. Check Printer Settings

  • Printer Settings: Verify that the printer settings on your computer match the printer configuration.

**9. Print a Test Page

  • Test Page: Try printing a test page directly from the printer’s control panel (if it has one) to see if it prints correctly.

**10. Check for Error Codes

  • Error Codes: Look for any specific error codes displayed on the printer's screen and consult the user manual or HP support for troubleshooting related to those codes.

**11. Clean Printheads

  • Printhead Cleaning: Perform a printhead cleaning through the printer’s maintenance menu if available.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
