Hi @Clovis77,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Printing on pre-cut bifold cards can be tricky, especially when trying to ensure that the content aligns properly on both sides of the card. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve the issue of printing on your 4x6 bifold card:
1. Check Printer Settings
- Ensure the paper size is set to 4x6 inches in both the printer settings and in your document settings.
- Go to Print settings in Word, then Printer Properties or Preferences, and select 4x6 as the paper size.:
- Make sure the orientation is set to Landscape if that matches how the card should be printed.
- In Word, select Print Layout view to ensure you see how the document will appear when printed.
2. Configure Document Layout
- In Word, go to Layout > Size and select 4x6 inches.
- If 4x6 inches is not available, choose Custom Size and enter 4x6 inches.:
- Set margins to Narrow or adjust manually. Go to Layout > Margins > Narrow or Custom Margins.
- Ensure your design accounts for the bifold nature of the card. You might need to create a template where one side aligns with the front of the card and the other side with the back.
- To align designs correctly, you may need to use a dedicated bifold card template or design software.
3. Use a Template
- Search for bifold card templates online or use a template in Word that is designed for bifold cards. These templates often have built-in alignment for printing on pre-cut cards.
- Align your content within the template to ensure it will be printed correctly on the front and back of the card.
4. Perform a Test Print
- Before printing on your bifold cards, print your design on plain paper to check alignment and margins. This helps ensure that your content will be properly positioned when you print on the actual cards.
- If the test print is misaligned, adjust the content or margins in your document until it prints correctly on the test sheet.
5. Print Setup in Word:
- Use the Print Preview option to see how your document will look when printed. Make sure the content aligns with how you want it to appear on the bifold card.
- In the print settings, check if there’s an option for scaling. Ensure that it is set to 100% or Actual Size to prevent the document from being resized incorrectly.
6. Printer Configuration
- Ensure that your printer’s paper handling settings are correctly configured for 4x6 paper.
- Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed. Sometimes driver updates fix issues with paper sizes and alignment.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
