Microsoft Windows 11

I'm using HP deskjet 3632 on Windows 11. I have tried all the troubleshooting methods for the past few hours - found a similar thread with same problem from someone else several years ago, and tried everything you recommended - uninstall/reinstall the printer / reinstalled drivers restarted everything, but still having problems. was working perfectly fine last time I printed something few days ago, but suddenly not working today? HP support system and HP print and scan doctor didn't find anything wrong with the printer

BTW, I tried making a copy both black-and-white and colour, and both work fine no problems - so probably not a hardware issue

Hi @edenkwok,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Deskjet 3632 printer is only printing the top half of a page and then freezing or stopping, there could be a few possible causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the problem.

  • Check ink levels: Make sure that the ink cartridges in your printer have sufficient ink levels. If any of the cartridges are low or empty, replace them with new ones.
  • Clean print heads: Unclean print heads can cause printing issues. Refer to your printer's user manual or the HP website for instructions on how to clean the print heads. Usually, there is a utility or option in the printer's settings menu to perform this task.
  • Update printer drivers: Outdated or incompatible printer drivers can lead to various printing problems. Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers specifically designed for your printer model. Install them on your computer and check if the issue persists.
  • Restart printer and computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary glitches. Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. Also, restart your computer to ensure there are no software conflicts.
  • Check paper alignment: Improper paper alignment might cause printing issues. Make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the paper tray and that the guides are adjusted to fit the paper size.
  • Reset printer settings: Resetting your printer to its default settings can help resolve any configuration issues. Access the printer's settings menu, navigate to the "Reset" or "Restore Defaults" option, and select it. Confirm the action and try printing again.
  • Test with different software/applications: Try printing from a different software or application to determine if the issue is specific to one program. If you can print successfully from another program, there might be compatibility or settings problems with the original software you were using.
  • Perform a firmware update: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model on the HP support website. Follow the provided instructions to update the firmware, as it can often resolve various issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
