We understand you're receiving the message: “There is a problem with the printer or ink system. on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer – N911g, running on Windows 10 (32-bit). We’re here to help resolve this issue.
This message typically indicates a problem with the ink cartridges, printhead, or ink system circuitry. Please follow the steps below.
1: Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn on the printer.
If the error returns, proceed to the next step.
2: Check and Reseat Ink Cartridges
- Open the ink cartridge access door.
- Remove all cartridges and check for ink leakage or debris.
- Reseat each genuine HP 950/951 cartridge firmly into its slot.
- Close the door and allow the printer to initialize.
📝 Make sure you're using original HP ink cartridges. Non-HP or refilled cartridges can trigger this error.
3: Clean the Printhead Contacts
- Power off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the cartridge access area and carefully lift the latch to remove the printhead.
- Gently clean the electrical contacts on the printhead and carriage using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
- Allow it to dry completely, reinstall the printhead, and power on the printer.
4: Update Firmware (if accessible)
If you can bypass the error screen:
- Visit: HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer series - N911 Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Su...
- Download and install the latest firmware for your model and operating system.
- Restart the printer after the update.
