Your HP Officejet 6700 Premium displaying a "Problem with Printer or Ink System" error is frustrating, especially when basic troubleshooting hasn’t worked.
A full reset might help:
Semi-Full Reset Steps
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
- If the error persists, try this alternative reset method:
- Press and hold the Back button (if available) while turning on the printer.
- If your printer has a touchscreen, tap the lower-left corner repeatedly as it boots up to access hidden reset options.
Additional Fixes
- Check for firmware updates on HP’s support site.
- Clean the ink cartridge contacts with a lint-free cloth.
- Try a different set of cartridges to rule out defective ink.
