@Barbara513, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer is displaying an orange exclamation point and you are unable to turn off the printer, it's likely indicating an error state or a specific issue that needs attention. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check for Paper Jams
- Ensure there are no remaining pieces of paper stuck inside the printer. Double-check all trays and accessible compartments for any scraps.
- Open the printer's ink cartridge access door and look inside for any obstructions.
2. Restart Your Printer
- Unplug the printer from the power source while it is still on.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back into the power source and attempt to power it on.
3. Check Ink Cartridges
- Open the ink cartridge access door and ensure that the cartridges are properly installed.
- Check for any protective tape that might still be on the cartridges.
- Reinsert the cartridges to ensure they are correctly seated.
4. Reset the Printer
Resetting the printer can solve many problems:
- While the printer is on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into its power source and reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on, if it does not turn on automatically.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
