Welcome to our HP Community forum!
A solid purple light on a printer, particularly one like an HP Envy, usually indicates the printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode and is not yet connected to a network. This means it's waiting for you to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network, usually through the HP Smart app. If the light is pulsing purple, it means the printer is in Auto Wireless Connect (AWC) mode and is trying to connect to your network, according to this HP Support Community link.
Here's what you can do:
- Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network:Use the HP Smart app on your phone or computer to guide you through the setup process.
- Check the HP Smart app:Ensure the HP Smart app is installed and you've followed the instructions to connect the printer.
- If you're using a USB cable:If you're connected via USB, the purple light may also indicate an issue with the wireless settings. You can try resetting the wireless connection by holding the Wireless button on the back of the printer for five seconds.
Kind Regards,
