OfficeJet Pro 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have always used HP official 950 951 cartridges on my OfficeJet Pro 8600.  Since buying a new set of ink, I keep getting the same error message for Y ink:  "Cartridge Damaged"  "One or more cartridges appear to be damaged - remove and replace"  I bought a whole new set of brand new HP ink and replaced again.  Same message.  I have unplugged, replugged, removed and inserted ink, removed and reinserted printer head 3 times, cleaned all the contacts with a cue tip and rubbing alcohol, reset to factory settings, reset wifi, set up web services, set up auto update, checked for printer update in settings, and all firmware is up to date.  I am unable to print even in black and white, as the error message won't go away.

Should I buy a new printer head?  Buy a new printer?  or try something else?  Thanks!

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand you are getting Cartridge Damaged error while printing.

If you have already performed the steps from the document Ink cartridge errors: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04100778 and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.
