My printer works fine, but it will not allow me to power it off. When I try to turn it off, the "Initialization in Progress - Do not turn off the printer. The printing system is being initialized and should not be interrupted" message appears. I have installed all the software and completed setup. I have also done a hard reset. How do I get this message to go away?

Hi @HailState01

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try these steps -

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Download and install the printer's firmware update from this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

That did not work. My printer is up to date and the reset did not work.
