I purchased a new yet old HP D7160. Although it is an older model, it has never been used before. When I unboxed it and set it up, I put in the 6 cartridges that came with it. During the initialization process, a message was flashed on the printer screen saying "ink system failure." Because these were the original cartridges that came with the printer and were out of date, I wonder if this contributed to the message of "ink system failure." I went online and found out how to do a hard reset which I did, but when the printer turns on after the reset, I still get the "ink system failure" message. I tried to return to the home screen in order to go to settings and let me choose the option of restoring the printer to its factory settings, but it won't let me navigate to this option. I like this printer because it prints such beautiful pictures, but with the problem of "ink system failure" it is presently useless. Any suggestions?
