I am having an issue with my printer. I just replaced the yellow cartridge with a genuine hp yellow cartridge and it says that it appears to be damaged. I looked at another similar problem and tried to follow the solution:

I see that you are facing issue with the refilled cartridges on your Officejet printer. First off, try to update the printer firmware. Go to http://hp.care/2o7nqnV to download and update the firmware.

Restart the printer once done.


If the issue persists, try to reseat the print head 3 times. i.e remove the print head, close the door, reinstall the print head. Repeat the process for 3 times and check.


Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!

However when I get to the part where is scans for my printer, it finds it but it is grayed out and does not let me select my printer to move on to the next step. Can I have some assistance please?

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue. I'd suggest you follow the steps from the document HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge to isolate and resolve the issue.

 

If the issue persists, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the cartridge replacement/service options for your printer.
