Hi there, I recently got my printer but have had the same cartridge issue. I've got an envy 5010 and getting the remove and reinstall message for the coloured cartridge. I just bought a new one today from my local Tesco supermarket. It is a genuine HP type 304. Can I get a replacement? I've already tried all the suggestions for troubleshooting to no avail.

What is it that you idiots at HP did to cause this?

I have business to do and important stuff for the business. You people are truly causing difficulty with your insane security over a frigging ink cartridge.  In the middle of this covid-19 crap. I have a new cartridge from Office depot second one no less. Did you increase some security crap in the printers without first adjusting the cartridges?

Hi. I am having the same problem. I just installed a genuine HP black 190XL cartridge but it won't recognize it no matter what I do. I have tried the solution in the message above, but it won't work. (On the back is printed Malaysia Nov 2021.) I have tried to reinstall the cartridge a number of times. It fits perfectly and doesn't seem to be damaged. Would it be possible to get a replacement?  Thank you.

Appreciate you trying the steps. As this is a regular ink and not Instant Ink, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the replacement. 

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

As a follow up to my post...

 

Thank you for sending me a replacement ink cartridge. That did the trick and I have had no further problems with the printer giving that message. It seems to have been a faulty cartridge I think.
