Hello all,
Apologies for the late reply - I have now got this issue sorted. I didn’t do it myself as I didn’t know how to but I took it to a local HP laser jet expert.
It took him a while to work out what the issue was, as it wasn’t anything hardware. We bought new cartridges etc... The problem turned out to be using inauthentic cartridges. I’m not sure if anyone here uses authentic up inks but I didn’t buy any because after buying a refill set, a HP set on top of that if it didn’t work would’ve been close to the cost of a new printer. The new firmware update doesn’t allow non-authentic HP refills.
To resolve, the engineer downloaded the old firmware pre-November and installed that and turned auto update off so I can use it without buying the extortionate HP inks.
I’m sorry I can’t advise how to do this but that’s what he told me he did.
