Random error message with flashing lights.  I have unplugged and rebooted.  Began after I printer some envelopes.  After printing the envelops,  I  adjusted the paper feeder accordingly to be able to print regular sheets.

Check Paper Alignment:

  • Ensure that the paper you are using is placed correctly in the paper tray with the guides snug against the paper. Misaligned paper can often trigger error messages.

Inspect the Paper Path:

  • Check for any obstructions or paper jam remnants in the printer. Envelopes can sometimes leave stray particles in the printer path.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source again. Wait about 60 seconds before plugging it back in to ensure a full reset. Turn on the printer after reconnecting.

Printhead Alignment:

  • Perform a printhead alignment via the printer's control panel or HP Smart app. This can often resolve alignment issues that arise after switching paper types.

Update Printer Software:

  • Make sure that your printer software is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • Occasionally, hardware issues such as stuck buttons can cause random errors and lights. Ensure all buttons can be pressed without sticking and the power cord is securely connected.
