Hi @Sydney007,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the red information light blinking on the HP DeskJet 4200!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check the Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure that both the black and color ink cartridges are installed correctly.
  • Make sure that the cartridges are not empty or have any protective tapes left on them.
  • If necessary, replace any empty or defective cartridges.

Verify the Paper Tray:

  • Check if there is paper loaded in the input tray.
  • Make sure the paper is not jammed. If there's a paper jam, carefully remove the jammed paper by following the instructions provided by HP.

Look for Error Codes or Messages:

  • Refer to the control panel display for any specific error codes or messages. This can help pinpoint the issue.
  • Error codes usually indicate specific problems, such as a paper jam or cartridge issue.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the Power button.
  • Unplug the power cord and wait for about a minute.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

Print a Test Page:

  • Try printing a test page to see if the printer is functioning correctly.

I hope this helps.
