HP officejet 4652
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had my ink refilled at Costco. It will not work in my printer.  I get HP INK IS COUNTERFEIT and ORIGIONAL HP INK DEPLETED messages. I have an OfficeJet 4652.  I see there is an optional firmware updates for a dynamic security feature for other HP Printers but not for mine. Is there anyway to make this work?

Thanks!!!

I found the solution on this link. All is well. Hopefully HP will have a firmware update in the future for the Officejet 4652.

I have also been refilling my genuine HP cartridges and they've worked fine, until today (3/27/17) when my black 564XL ran out of ink and I installed another genuine HP cartridge that had been refilled. The printer showed it as empty and would not print Black at all. This is not right. Why can't I use a refilled HP cartridge to save money until I finally have to buy another new cartridge, which will eventually happen I'm sure. I did find some work arounds to this issue, and they have worked for my color cartridges, but I haven't gotten the Black to go yet. I'm going to do a reset to Factory Default settings, turn of the printer, restart it and make sure the Chip Info setting is turned OFF. Hopefully that will solve my problem. We'll see.

This is a 'followup' on my last post about refilled cartridges not working. There is a work around or solution to make refilled cartridges work and it can be found in this forum. In my case, it was the print head itself - I finally got an error message on my PC that informed me that "The print head in this device has failed".  What bugs me now, is that this printer was maybe 2 yrs old at the max! What's up HP? I've had other HP inkjet printers that lasted waaaaaay longer than a measley 2 years.  Well, I decided to give up on inkjet printers since I rarely print any photos. I bought an HP Color Laserjet All-in-one printer. This will last much longer I'm sure. I've set it up (which was a breeze!), it's wireless to my PC, my laptop, my tablet, and my phone! Gotta love that! Toner costs more than little ink cartridges, but the toner lasts far longer and it can be bought for much less on eBay (Genuine HP Toner cartridges)  So I'm totally happy now!
