Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Using HP Envy Notebook with Windows 10 and Officejet 6700 multi-function printer.  When printing 28 page document, print all pages - trying to first print 'Even with back to front' setting.  Setting automatically reverts to 'front to back'.  [ 2 sided will be completed by reloading paper and printing 'Odd with front to back' setting.] 

 

All updates have been accepted and installed.  This most recent use of this function was last holiday season -2016.

 

BTW, I cannot use duplexing function to complete this printing as I am using a heavyier weight paper that doesn't work with duplex.

I recommend you check with the Printer properties > Advanced > page order, Select Back to front and save settings.

If this is what you've done and yet it doesn't work, perhaps you could tell us which application you are using to print and use an alternate application instead to check if that works.

 

If the issue persists, you may want to reinstall the printer driver/software as this is a driver issue with windows & not the printer:

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below: 

 

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features 

2.) Select your HP Printer 

3.) Select Uninstall 

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers 

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device' 

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo. 

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s") 

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab 

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom 

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows 

12.) Close Devices and Printers 

 

Then, Click here to access the HP website, find the drivers compatible with your windows and install it.

As I understand you have been trying to print back to front however, it prints the opposite,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details: 

Did you run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to identify and resolve the issue?

 

If not, please do and once done, I recommend you reinstall the drivers of your printer,

If the issue persists, Please update the firmware of your printer: Click here to find and install the same.

All of you suggestions have already been performed.  I should have mentioned that in my original post.  Scan Doctor run with no issues found.  Drivers have been reinstalled and firmware updated.  ALL 3 performed before earlier post.

Woohoo!! Riddle_Decipher you have indeed made my day!  I followed your 1-12 steps to uninstall and then reinstalled.  'Back to Front' now holds and the printer is able to collate my 28 page document without my intervention.

 

Just an FYI, if it may be important to anyone else, the docuemnt was created in MS Word 2016.

 

I am off to print all my holiday calendars.....
