Hi @farmcow,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To skip enrolling in HP Instant Ink for your HP OfficeJet 3830, follow these steps.

Cancel Enrollment Requests During Setup:

  • When setting up the printer or installing the drivers, select "No, I don’t want Instant Ink" or a similar option if prompted.

Use HP Smart App Settings:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your device.
  • Navigate to Printer Settings.
  • Look for an Instant Ink or Subscription section.
  • Disable prompts for Instant Ink (this option might be labeled as "Do not remind me again" or similar).

Use a Standard Printer Driver:

  • Download and install the standard drivers for your HP OfficeJet 3830 from HP's support website.
  • This may reduce prompts for Instant Ink enrollment.

Ignore Instant Ink Advertisements:

  • If the printer continues to prompt, dismiss the messages by:
    • Pressing the Cancel button on the printer.
    • Ignoring pop-ups on your computer or mobile device.

Manually Manage Ink:

  • Purchase ink cartridges directly from HP or third-party sellers.
  • Avoid signing up for Instant Ink when ordering from HP's website.

Printer Settings on the Control Panel:

  • Access the control panel of the printer.
  • Navigate to Setup > Preferences > Notifications.
  • Look for any Instant Ink settings and disable them.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
