HP Officejet Pro 8630
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

We got this printer about 5 months ago, set it up as a network printer and all our workstations printed to it just fine, this includes Windows 7 & XP machines and a laptop. We had no issues until just recently I installed an update that was supposed to be for the instant ink program. This made it so the xp machines could not print to it. I had to reset the printer to uninstall the update and this resovled the issue initially, but then it started to print slow - not like taking a long time to print a page, but taking a long time between when you hit print and when it actually starts printing.  Yesterday (after all computers had a Windows Update installed) it started taking 30-45 min for a print to get to the printer. Currently we have the printer connected via usb to one of the workstations and shared with the rest, but it is not an ideal situation. We tried disabling our antivirus (Trend Micro) to see if that was blocking and it did nothing. Wondering how to get it to print as it used to?

Ironically enough, the issue resolved itself after the second day. Computers and printer are shut down every evening. Thanks so much for all the helpful links!

Here is an older document for Windows 95,98 and XP. It does have some additional steps so it wouldn't hurt to check it out.

There is a chance that this is a network issue since print jobs from all the computers are slow.

This second link has some pretty good troubleshooting steps for network issues.
