Hi @drdnld3 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-In-One Printer (C309a) is randomly printing status reports, you can try the following steps to turn off this feature:
Cancel the Print Job:
- Open the print queue on your computer. You can do this by typing "Printers" or "Devices and Printers" in the Windows search bar and selecting your printer.
- Locate the print job related to the status report and cancel it.
Printer Settings:
- Open the "Devices and Printers" window on your computer.
- Right-click on your HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-In-One Printer and select "Printing preferences" or "Printer properties."
- Look for an option related to status reports or diagnostic prints in the printer settings.
- Disable any option that automatically prints status reports or diagnostic pages.
HP Solution Center:
- If you have HP Solution Center installed on your computer, open it.
- Navigate to the Settings or Preferences section.
- Look for an option related to status reports or diagnostic prints and disable it.
Printer Control Panel:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate through the settings and look for an option to disable automatic status reports or diagnostic prints.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model.
- If updates are available, follow the instructions to update your printer's firmware.
Remove and Reinstall Printer:
- Remove the printer from your list of installed devices.
- Reinstall the printer using the latest drivers from the HP website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
