Product: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn

My HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn printer has started to display: supply memory error 10.1000.

What does this error code mean and how do I fix it?
It still prints but I would like to resolve the error.

This error indicates that the printer is not able to communicate with the chip on the toner cartridge.  You could contact support and see if the cartridge can be replaced under warranty. Otherwise just print until the cartridge is empty and when replaced the error should disappear. There is aways the chance there is a problem with  the reader in the printer but the only way to know would be to replace the cartridge.
