Hi @reshmakham,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Supply System Problem" message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9720e Wide Format All-in-One Printer typically indicates an issue with the ink supply system. Here are steps you can follow to resolve the issue.
Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for 2–3 minutes.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on to see if the error clears.
Check Ink Cartridges
- Open the printer's cartridge access door and inspect the ink cartridges.
- Ensure all cartridges are:
- Properly seated in their respective slots.
- Installed correctly and securely.
- Free from damage or ink leaks.
- If a cartridge appears damaged, replace it with a new, genuine HP cartridge.
Clean the Ink Cartridge Contacts
- Turn off the printer.
- Remove the cartridges and gently clean the gold-colored contacts on both the cartridges and the cartridge holder with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
- Let them dry for a minute, then reinstall the cartridges.
Reset the Printer
- Perform a factory reset:
- Go to the Settings menu on the printer touchscreen.
- Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Printer Setup, and select Restore Defaults.
- Confirm to reset the printer to factory defaults.
Update Firmware
- Ensure your printer is running the latest firmware:
- Visit HP's support page and download the latest firmware for your model.
- Install the firmware using your computer.

Check the Ink Supply System
- Inspect the ink supply tubes (if visible) for clogs, air bubbles, or disconnections.
- Perform a printer diagnostic test from the printer menu to check for ink flow issues.
Run an Ink System Reset
- Remove all ink cartridges and close the cartridge access door.
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Wait for 5 minutes, then reconnect the printer and power it on.
- Reinsert the cartridges when prompted.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
