Hi @ClaudioG67,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe has the print (or resume) button light always on and isn’t printing. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check for Error Indicators

If the Resume or Attention (!) light is solid or blinking, it usually means there’s a paper jam, low toner, or door open.

Look at the printer’s control panel — if any other lights are on or flashing, note their pattern.

Restart the Printer

Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord for 30 seconds.

Plug it back in and turn it on.

Wait until the printer finishes initializing before trying to print again.

Check for Paper Jam or Door Open

Open the toner access door and remove the toner cartridge.

Inspect the paper path and rear access area for any jammed or torn paper.

Reinsert the toner firmly and close the door until it clicks.

Verify Printer Connection

Ensure the printer is connected properly to your computer or Wi-Fi.

On the printer, press the Information (i) button to print a Network Configuration Report.

Confirm that the Status shows “Connected.”

Check Print Queue

On your computer, go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers → HP MFP M234dwe.

Right-click the printer and select See what’s printing.

Cancel any stuck print jobs, then try printing again.

Update or Reinstall Printer Driver

Open the HP Smart app and check for printer updates under Advanced Settings → Printer Updates.

If the light stays on after restarting, remove the printer from your computer and reinstall it through HP Smart.

Check Toner Cartridge and Fuser Door

Remove the toner and check for any packing material or protective tape left behind.

Make sure the toner and fuser door are properly seated — the light can stay on if something isn’t latched correctly.

I hope this helps.
