I bought third party compatable ink cartridges for my hp photosmart 6510 (serial number CN1C9430SX). When I installed the cartridges I get this error message - "older generation cartridge". I am very disappointed with this as I know other printer manufacturers allow you to use third party cartridges. Please urgent resolve this issue and advise how to resolve this. I urgently need to use my printer.

@DaveW1946 Since this thread is about third-party older generation cartridges and that is not your case I would suggest you post your question in a new thread. Be sure to mention what cartridges you are using (including the dates on the cartridge) as well as your printer model.
I am not an employee of HP, I am a volunteer posting here on my own time.
