Hi @seasaltcpa ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to load photo paper into your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e All-in-One Printer and ensure it recognizes the paper, follow these steps:

Step 1: Prepare the Photo Paper

  • Make sure you're using the correct size and type of photo paper recommended for the printer (e.g., 4x6, 5x7, or A4 photo paper).
  • Load the paper with the print side facing down. This is usually the glossy side for photo paper.

Step 2: Adjust the Paper Guides

  • Pull out the paper tray and slide the paper width guides outward to make space for the photo paper.
  • Insert the photo paper into the tray until it stops. Do not overload the tray; place only a few sheets at a time.
  • Adjust the paper width guides snugly against the edges of the photo paper to prevent paper jams or misfeeding.

Step 3: Set the Printer for Photo Paper

From your computer:

  • Open the document or photo you want to print.
  • Go to File > Print and choose your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e printer.
  • Click on Printer Properties or Preferences.
  • Under the Paper/Quality tab or similar option, choose Photo Paper as the paper type.
  • Select the correct paper size (e.g., 4x6, 5x7).
  • Ensure you select Photo Printing as the print quality option.

From the printer screen:

  • After loading the photo paper, the printer should prompt you to confirm the paper size and type.
  • If it doesn't, manually select the correct paper size and type on the printer's display by navigating to Settings > Paper Handling > Paper Size and Paper Type.

Step 4: Check Printer Driver

Ensure that your printer driver is up to date. If the printer doesn't recognize the photo paper, download and install the latest drivers from the HP Support website. Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e All-in-One Printer

Step 5: Print Your Photo

Once the photo paper is loaded and settings are confirmed, try printing the photo again.
