@gorgos10,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you need assistance in enabling Wi-Fi Direct on your HP DeskJet 2630 printer. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

I suggest you perform a Printer Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed

Now let's try to enable Wi-Fi Direct from the printer control panel:

To turn Wi-Fi Direct on or off: For more details, please make use of the User guide of this printer, go to Chapter 7 Connect your printer - page number 65.

On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button ( ) and the Resume button ( )

together for three seconds.

● When Wi-Fi Direct is turned on, the Wi-Fi Direct icon on the display stays on. To find the Wi-Fi Direct

name and password, press the Information button ( ) to print a printer information page.

NOTE: When you turn on Wi-Fi Direct the first time, the printer automatically prints a Wi-Fi Direct

guide. The guide provides instructions about how to use Wi-Fi Direct. After that, you can press the

Information button ( ) and the Resume button ( ) together to print the Wi-Fi Direct guide. The

guide may not be available in all languages.

● When Wi-Fi Direct is turned off, the Wi-Fi Direct icon on the display is off.

● For more information about the Wi-Fi Direct icon status, see Control panel display icons on page 6

If the issue persists, let's try the other way using EWS page:

- Print a Network Config Page from the printer. Note the printer's IP address.

- Press the Wireless button and the Information button at the same time to print the Network Configuration Page

- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Enable WiFi-Direct and Save

Please perform these steps and let me know how it goes

Thank you and have a great day 😊
