Hi @Walter84,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you have a document that says it's locked from printing, it's likely that there are restrictions set on the document itself or within the software you are using to view/print it. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially unlock the document.
Check Document Restrictions:
- Open the document in the application you used to create it or the one you are trying to print from.
- Look for any security settings or restrictions within the document. This might include password protection, editing restrictions, or printing restrictions.
Remove Document Password:
- If the document is password-protected, you will need to enter the password to unlock it. Look for an option to remove or change the password in the document settings.
Use a Different Viewer:
- Try opening the document in a different document viewer or editor. Sometimes, certain applications have limitations that others do not.
Print as Image:
- Some PDF documents may have printing restrictions. If you are trying to print a PDF, try printing it as an image. To do this, open the PDF in a PDF viewer, go to the Print dialog, and look for an option to print as an image.
Save As a New Document:
- Save the document with a new name or in a different format. This can sometimes remove restrictions associated with the original file.
Check Printer Settings:
- Make sure that your printer settings are correct and that there are no restrictions set on the printer itself.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause printing issues.
Consult the Printer Manual:
- Refer to the user manual for your HP OfficeJet 4650 printer. It may have specific information on document printing restrictions or troubleshooting steps.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
