Though my office jet pro 8500a is connected to my password protected WiFi, my echo show is telling me they can’t print because the printer is offline (not connected to my WiFi).   I enabled all skills, granted permission etc etc etc.  amazon told me to contact HP which I tried via telephone support but they were no help.  Hopefully someone else has experienced this problem

Hi, thank you for your message but I’ve done all the necessary steps.  I have my printers email address, I enabled the skill, my printer is connected to WiFi, I’ve given Alexa permission etc etc.  the message I get from Alexa is “your list has been sent to this printer, then it gives the printers email address.  Then it says also, your printer is offline. Confirm it is turned on and connected to your WiFi network.

dont know what else to do.

thank you in advance

@Arubadew,

Is the printer and the Echo connected to the same network? If no, make sure that the printer is connected to the same network.

If the printer is connected to the same network then follow the below steps.

Please download and run the HP Print And Scan Doctor from this Link: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe

Run PSDR v5.0.2

Once the PSDR detects the Printer, it will show up the IP address and Software Status.

Select the correct Printer and click on Next.

PSDR will check if the Printer is on the Network and communication between the PC and the Printer. Once the connection check is done, click on Fix Printing

Once PSDR goes through all checks and automatic fixes, click on Print a test page.

Regardless if PSDR printed the test page or not, click on “NO PRINT”

PSDR will then notify you that there is an update available, click on continue, and PSDR will apply the patch and ask for a reboot.

Post restart the PSDR will run automatically to check for more issue.  If no issue found close PSDR.

Cheers!
