@Charlie312, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw printer is displaying an 'Expired certificate' error, it means that the SSL certificate used to secure communications between your printer and other devices has expired. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to renew the certificate:
Generating a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)
Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Open a web browser and enter the printer's IP address to access the EWS.
Generate CSR:
- Navigate to the Network tab.
- Select Security and then Certificates.
- Click on Create Certificate Request.
- Fill out the necessary fields (Common Name, Organization, etc.) and ensure to choose 2048 bit for the key size.
- Click Next and then save the generated CSR.
Also, I suggest you refer to this guide: HP printers - 'Encryption Credentials Expired' error (macOS, iOS) | HP® Support
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
