why are only squares printing when I use Microsoft word?

We have a HP page wide pro map 477dw and ever since a month ago all our Microsoft Word for Mac documents are printing with only squares.  I have restarted printer.  Looked for updates on printer.  Deleted and readded printer... and I am at a loss here. It is still printing stinking squares.

Probably you need to upgrade firmware. Sorry I can't find firmware which can run on a Mac machine do you have any Windows machine which is connected to your printer ? If yes please use the following firmware

           https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/pwp_400-500/PW477DW_2132A.exe

Hi,

this likely occur when using AirPrint, let's try below steps to install an HP driver and let me know if that may resolve the problem:

1. Using HP Easy Admin, download the essential software for your printer:
   https://support.hp.com/my-en/document/c06164609
2. Launch the installation PKG and complete the installation process
   Note: be sure to follow any security prompt and allow the extension within the macOS Security Preferences.
3. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
4. Select your printer and remove it using the Minus sign.
5. click the plus sign and select the listed printer.
6. Within the Use drop-down menu click on Select Software.
7. Locate and select the HP PageWide Pro 477 MFP model and press Add.

Now try printing using the newly created print queue and check for any change.

Not working for me. Give us older firmware to download or fix the firmware which is responsible for the problem.
