Answer
- Sticker paper is not supported in the printer.
- Only paper made for Inkjet printers may be used.
- "Glossing" after printing is not something on which I can reasonably comment - i have not "glossed paper after printing". I would guess that glossing is a method used to seal the surface of the object.
Comments / Additional Information
The only answer to "why" is that the ink does not stick to sticker paper. Sticker paper is perhaps not like other papers that the printer supports - sticker paper may have a more "slippery" surface, for example.
In so much that I am aware, the printer does not support "sticker" paper of any type.
Considerations
- Media (kind of paper) you use must be manufactured for an InkJet printer (and not laser printer).
- Media type (kind of paper) must be compatible with the printer.'
- Paper size, paper weight, paper surface (texture), and paper color must be compatible with the printer.

If you are instead asking about "labels", for example, address labels of the type you can buy from Avery and other companies, then the printer does support this Media. In general, since the specifications do not indicate which type, it is safer to assume the "labels" should have a matte finish (as opposed to glossy). In practice, "glossy" (address) labels might work, though I have not found information that actually states this is the case.
Both the specifications and the datasheet data are disappointingly lacking in detail about the weight of paper supported by this printer. (Specifications and the Datasheet indicate paper is supported from 16 to 72 lbs.)
The following is perhaps typical and NOT guaranteed (to be) correct for this printer:
Cards (Index) 163 to 200 g/m²
Photo Paper 220 to 280 g/m² (For example, HP Advanced Photo paper is 250 g/m2)
Plain Paper 60 to 105 g/m²
