Hi @sawaustin,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your frustration! Let's troubleshoot this together. Here are some steps you can try:

The printer will only work with windows 8 and above!

Check Printer Connections: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your Dell Inspiron 3847 desktop computer. This includes both the power cord and the USB cable if you're using a wired connection.

Restart Devices: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve many issues. Try restarting both your computer and your printer.

Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your HP 8710 printer. You can download them from the HP website.

Check Printer Queue: Sometimes print jobs get stuck in the queue. Open the Control Panel, go to Devices and Printers, and check if there are any pending print jobs for your HP 8710. If so, try canceling them and then try printing again.

Try Different Software: If you're trying to print from a specific program (like Adobe Acrobat), try printing from a different program (like Microsoft Word) to see if the issue persists.

Check PDF Compatibility: Ensure that the PDF files you're trying to print are not corrupted and are compatible with your printer.

Test from Another Device: If possible, try printing the PDF files from a different device (like a laptop or another desktop computer) to see if the issue is specific to your Dell Inspiron 3847.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you Rachel for your attempt.

I guess this isn't going to work.

And I spent days trying to covert or open it with other things like Word.

But if anyone else reads this, it is the #8710 printer, and dell desktop windows 7.

But- nothing would print either from tablet or cellphone.

Thank you.
