Hi @winds41,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 2734e printer is experiencing issues where it won't print until you recycle the power, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to try and resolve the problem.

  • Check for Paper Jams: Make sure there are no paper jams inside the printer. Even a small piece of paper stuck in the printer can cause issues.
  • Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that your ink cartridges are properly installed and have enough ink. Low ink levels can sometimes prevent printing.
  • Restart Printer: Before recycling the power, try restarting the printer from its control panel or using the power button. This might help resolve temporary glitches.
  • Check Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wireless printer, check the Wi-Fi connection.
  • Update Drivers and Firmware: Outdated drivers or printer firmware can cause various issues. Visit the HP official website to download and install the latest drivers and firmware for your printer model.
  • Reset Printing System (For Mac): If you're using a Mac, you can try resetting the printing system. Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners", right-click in the printers list, and select "Reset printing system". Note that this will remove all your printers, so you'll need to add them back afterwards.
  • Check for Software Conflicts: Sometimes, software conflicts can cause printing issues. Try printing from a different application or computer to see if the issue persists.
  • Check Print Queue: If there are any stuck print jobs in the print queue, it might prevent new jobs from printing. Clear the print queue and try printing again.
  • Factory Reset: As a last resort, you could perform a factory reset on your printer. Refer to the printer's manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to do this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
