Been there done that

HP has dumped their Samsung printer division like a hot potato or an orphaned child with zero support whatsoever

luckily I was able to donate the samsung printer to my kid and his mates in school who all us PCs so for them it should keep on trucking

I bought another HP branded printer. so far it works on Mojave both print and scan using AirPrint

I have not yet installed the HP drivers or software. basically leaving well enough alone

but what worries me is there are ongoing efforts by Xerox for a hostile takeover of HP

not sure if the PC division or printer division too.

so if that happens probably support for HP will be in the toilet and for samsung printers in the cesspool.......
