Trying to scen 11X17 but the scan is only 8 1/2" wide.   I am selecting "entire scan area" because tabloid isn't listed as a size option.

I know this is an old post, but I was working on a similar thread and they had a better solution than selecting a similar (but still wrong) paper size. You can find that solution here. Basically, using HP Scan, instead of selecting "11x17" for the paper size, select "Custom" and then enter "11x17".
