HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdn Printer

every time I scan, the printer locks up during the file saving process with an error message on the screen as shown above. I need to restart the printer and then the same thing happens again. I have updated printer firmware using the USB drive ever happens about 75% of the time when I scan

I suggest you perform a factory reset on the device. Most of the F0 errors are temporary errors caused by corruption in the operating system of the printer.

thank you for being a volunteer and answering my question. I did try that unfortunately it had no impact at all. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me

Providing the solution in case anybody else has the same problem. I went through two printers that had exactly the same problem. They finally decided it was a hardware problem, and they replaced the formatter circuit board in the printer and it fixed the problem. I don't know how I could've had two printers in a row with the same problem, maybe a bad day at the factory.

Update: I am on my third printer from HP. They replaced a circuit board in the second one, it worked for about a week and then it started crashing on scan again, first 50% of the time then nearly 100% of the time because I was outside of my 30 days, they told me that I would get a replacement refurbished printer. They sent that one and it does exactly the same thing. I am using the HP Quickstart software, I am also using the Image Capture software on my Mac and the same result happens every time. There is something seriously wrong with something in the firmware coding or circuitry of this machine design.

Seeing the same issues here too. HP never replaced them just kept saying it is firmware. I have lost 4 printers to this issue all are now out of warranty. Another just started today.

An update: more than FIVE MONTHS have passed since I reported this problem, and I received three printers ina row,  all of which developed the same problem. Parts replacement seemed to fix it for a week or two before the problem returned.  After escalating this through customer support they agreed to send me a replacement model 4201 , which is the same printer but without the scanner attached. Little did I know that they saw this as an even exchange, even though the printer with the scanner attached was nearly twice the price. I am now in the process of arguing with them making me whole for the amount of money that I spent. This has been an absolute travesty, I've never had such issues with HP before either with their products or with their customer service. I am disgusted.
