Bought a 7500 a few month ago, same problems but solved the issues completely !
7500 is now out in the paddock for target practice,
Canon MF works just fine !
HP - only difference for using a beer can for target practice is that you get to drink the beer first and the can opens EVERY TIME !

Hi Snowwy,
During the software installation of the 7500 the Activate scan to computer is offered to the customer to enable or disable before the installation is finished installing. If this option is unchecked during the installation then the Activate Scan to computer will not be activated. In this case you can open the icon labeled HP Photosmart 7510 on your desktop, and then click on the Manage scan to computer to activate this option.
If you were having issues scanning from the printer to the computer how far was the printer from the router?
Were there several walls or metal objects located between the printer and router?
Note: Walls or metal objects can limit the wireless signal between the printer and router.
HP designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and resolves many printing, scanning, and connectivity problems: The HP Print and Scan Doctor. HP recommends that you download and install the Print and Scan Doctor any time you need to troubleshoot a problem with your HP printer from the link below.

Appreciate your reply, but for some reason you all think that end users are complete morons !
Fact of life -
Activate Scan - ok for a while then disabled once pc goes to sleep and wakes up
Activate Scan after that - no device found - how hard is that - i can see the **bleep** printer haha
Same from PC or MAC
Software written in nigeria ? - sorry nigeria, you most likely don't work with HP
Simply fix the problem and stop making excuses !

>Can someone tell me how to do this please?
It can't be done.
It works for a while and then connections are dropped for no apparent reason and things need to be 'reactivated' again. This thread is full of people having those kind of problems.
Fact is that the 6500a has a compatibility issues with a *lot* of routers out there.
Chances your router is a problem too are higher then changes it'll work fine.
HP of course either says it aint so, or (no joke) calls it a feature and marked this thread as solved.
I have a bunch of systems at home, and (except for one windows machine) they all have problems accessing this printer.
My Mac, my Iphone and a Windows 2003 server are all pretty much not able to print.
So, if you can still return this printer to the store, I strongly suggest you do so and get a Canon or something similar.
Thanks HP.

Thanks for the suggestion Tutor, store won't take it back coz the hardware works fine haha !
BTW, still have the problem with the PC connected to the Printer directly via - wait for it - HP Procurve 2910 switch.
Cheers
