It seems like that may have solved the activate to scan (I have a 7500 by the way) --- now I have a new problem. One side of the touch screen no longer works......grrrrrrrr and that side controls the 'scan to computer' instead of scan to memory chip.
I'm editing this reply to indicate what solved the 'scan to' problem. The new updated software did the trick, at least for now!!!

Hi AcaCandy,
If you screen is blanking out on one side make sure you have it plugged directly into the power outlet in the wall and not into a surge protector. If you still have the issue while it is plugged into the wall you will need to call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

Thanks for the quick reply. It's not blanking out. I can see the icon perfectly....I just cannot press on it....well, I CAN press on it, but, it doesn't do anything. It seems that on all the screens, anything on that side cannot be pressed on. I will check into technical support. Thank you again.

And the sad thing is, I've hardly used this machine since I purchased it. Maybe have touched that scan to computer button (or that side of the icons) a dozen or so times.

If that suggestion is for me, that doesn’t help. That whole side (right side) of the touch pad is not responsive. It doesn’t matter what option you are trying to use. Options on the left side of the touchpad work fine. It’s obviously something under the touchpad that makes contact with the buttons........:smileysad:
