Hello,
I just installed the PageWide Pro 477dw including scan to mail and scan tot SMB.
Everything works.
I just can't find the right setting to add date and time to the scanfiles.
Right now the file names are scan0000x but i would really like to add date and time to the filename.
How do i manage?
Thanx in advance and kind regards,
Jasqula

Scanning issues…
Please try this scan solution:
HP Scan Extended
For Windows: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Check all your settings and expand all tabs and all + signs to see all options that available.
Make searchable PDFs scans with this free scanning software - https://www.naps2.com/
NAPS2 also allows you to:
- Maximize and resize the scanning screen on your computer.
- Scan over 300 ppi from the Glass or ADF.
- Save multiple pages (over 300 ppi) to one PDF file.
Let us know.

I do not want to scan, or to initiate the scan from a computer.
I want to trigger all scans from the colorlaserjetpro.
scanned files shall end up on a network files system. Very simply one could mean. Technology exists since decades.
However the MFP M400fdw asks for a filename-PREFIX to store the files.
however he does not:
1) add a suffix, just as simply an incrementing number e.g. "scan_000001, scan_000002" .....
2) nor does he allow simply "wildcards" suchas %YYYY %mm or whatever to add timestamps. eg. scan_2019-04-28-125932_02.pdf
How can this be fixed? Right now ALL scans overwrite themselves.
It is a TRAGEDY or better said a an evidency of incapacity. Even older HP printers supported at least option 1).
How can this be fixed?

Hi,
Adding a Data & Time prefix is only an option from the HP Scan software.
Any direct firmware (Digital Filing) scan feature such as Scan to Email or a Network Folder will add scan numbering only, any date and time prefix cannot be added to the filename when scanning using such method.

Hi Dhd70
That's exactly what I would like to do. Just bought an MFP M477fdw and it seems they still have firmware/software from the last century.
I can't believe that in 2019 they are not adding such simple features which would quite help. And you do not have to be a rocket scientist to add this.
I tried to contact HP via chat and phone (6 different instanced) but nobody feels responsible or is able to answer or point me in the right direction.
Is there a FEATURE REQUEST page? %YEAR%_%MONTH%_%DAY%_ just the simple three variables, and if they are implementing it would not coust too much to add %HOU% and %MINUTE% to the variables.
frustrating....
did you find out if there is any option?
