HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

When scanning from Adobe Acrobat Pro in MacOS Monterey, The scanner communicates and scanning begins but Adobe reports a “Color Format” error - even with black and white scans . Scanning direct from printers and scanners works from Mac control panel and Adobe does just fine with a Windows 10 workstation on the same network. (Although I had to install the full off-line driver suite to get a TWAIN driver for this printer). Any suggestions?

Print functions work just fine on all devices on my network.

@Tinkerin

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help.

This is clearly an App issue on your MAC. Please uninstall and reinstall Adobe and see if that helps.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. Same result. It appears that MacOS does not support TWAIN any longer and the image capture that is used instead does not play well with Acrobat.

A workaround discovered in Adobe community suggests to use the HP app (HP smart - in my case) to scan to a TIFF file and then drop that into Acrobat. I verified that this works. Not the perfect solution - two extra steps, But it works.

Windows 10 system had the exact same problem. But, that was fixed by installing the offline suite of software (which added a TWAIN scanning driver). HP does not appear to have that available for MacOS.

Thanks anyway!
